MINISTRIES

Worship

At Catawba Baptist Church our time of worship includes music and prayer; however, preaching the Word of God from the pulpit predominates our worship activities. This special time provides the opportunity for us to praise our Lord and Savior and fills us with joy through fellowship with our family of believers.  As the truth of God’s Word is shared, the worship ministry reminds us that we are the light of the world and that our lives are to glorify our Father which is in heaven.

Sunday School

A vital part of spiritual growth requires studing the Word of God.  Intimate settings encourage fellowship with other believers via open discussions, sharing our life victories and storms. Sunday School also provides us an opportunity to come together in soul searching prayer. Bible study is critical for all who have a desire to grow in their faith as the wisdom of God’s Word is shared. Sunday School reminds us of the truthful, loving, and encouraging relationship offered by our Heavenly Father.

Youth

Bible preaching, bible studies, and activities that will challenge and shape lives forever. Fellowship and community outreach are top priorities. Activities include mission/service experiences, retreats and recreational outings.

Children

It is never too early to introduce children to the love of God. The foundation of a loving and productive relationship with our Heavenly Father begins at an early age.

Men

A strong Men’s Ministry is essential to overcoming generational gaps and getting men connected and accountable. The ministry focuses on the inner spiritual life of the men in the church, on fellowship with one another, and on witnessing to those outside the church.

Women (WMU)

Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) assists churches in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy of missions in order that a church can fulfill its total mission in the world. WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. From the beginning, WMU’s main purpose has been to educate and involve women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Financial support of missionaries has always been a priority for women involved in WMU. Two mission boards supported by the WMU are the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.

Senior Adults

Walking alongside, teaching, encouraging, praying for and coaching others allows senior Christians to share the wisdom that comes only through having walked and come through the mountains and valleys in one’s spiritual journey.
